Five British Baby Boxes have been delivered to the babies left homeless by the Grenfell Tower fire.
The families are among the first to be helped by our donations – which were lovingly filled with gifts from our local community.
All children under six months will be gifted a British Baby Box filled with nappies, wipes, baby clothes, baby milk and blankets after we were approached by charity workers at the West London scene.
It is immensely rewarding to know that we have directly helped a family who were affected by this horrendous incident.
Our Baby Boxes are supposed to provide a safe place for a baby to sleep. Hundreds of children have been left without a roof over their heads.
Of course, providing a bed for an infant is just one small part of the relief effort – but we are proud to have played that part.
Baby Boxes are practical, lightweight, portable and sturdy boxes with fitted mattresses which act as a baby’s first bed and are suitable from newborn until six-months-old.
British Baby Box have been involved in a number of partnerships with other charities and organisations to reach vulnerable women and children – in the UK and abroad.
Among these was a scheme with Save The Children which allowed the charity to deliver 1,600 British Baby Boxes to the youngest children of Syria displaced or affected by the conflict there.
