We are thrilled to announce that we have won an award for championing baby safety and spreading the baby box message around the UK.
British Baby Box, in conjunction with our PR team at Prominent, scooped Gold for our campaign to support new parents at the Chartered Institute of Public Relations Pride awards.
We started our company with ambitious objectives which included connecting with new parents, promoting a “safety first” message and raising awareness of the baby box tradition.
And we have achieved all this and more.
British Baby Box was built with the aim of giving all children an equal start in life – an ethos which began in Finland where, for 80 years, the state has been gifting all new mums with a baby box.
In the last 18 months our business has grown from strength to strength.
We have been involved in a number of initiatives aimed at informing mothers and fathers on the choices available to them and supporting them in the first few months of parenthood. We have worked with a number of charities, providing 500 boxes to a women’s charity in Iraq through Barnados and 1,600 boxes to Syrian refugees through Save the Children. We have developed a “mothers first and businesswoman second” message which has seen us attract the support of many influential and household names and we have encouraged our partners to share the limelight and spread an 100% British message. Finally, and most recently, we have been at the forefront of campaigning for new safety standards in the UK for baby boxes which will ensure all companies who sell them are as vigilant as we are about meeting requirements.
Prominent has supported us through all of this, delivering a creative, proactive and innovative campaign for British Baby Box that has resulted in impressive brand awareness.
CIPR judges said: “This clever campaign impressed the judges with its effective use of social media, excellent coverage and great links with key targets.
“Prominent and British Baby Box demonstrated how to develop and deliver an effective campaign and there has been clear evidence of its success.”
