The FRIST EVER British standard for a Baby Box will specify safety requirements and test methods for the design and manufacture of Baby Boxes. It will also include the type of mattress that should be used. It is an absolute honour to be a BSI Committee Member, especially when creating a brand new British Standard that will ensure all Baby Boxes meet regulations throughout the UK.

British Baby Boxes are used as an alternative to the traditional Moses Basket and have been given to expectant parents by both the Finnish and Scottish Governments.
Francine Bates, the previous Chief Executive of The Lullaby Trust, quoted that the charity is also calling for a standard to be developed for Baby Boxes through the British Standards Institution, so we are delighted that this is happening!
Various meetings have taken place with industry leaders and we are progressing well. We are working hard to develop the Standard to ensure all materials being used are safe and more importantly highlighting materials that should not be used.
