Sleepy Little Star BlanketDid you know that products made from organic cotton last five times longer than their non-organic equivalent?

To accompany our mattress we provide super soft white fitted sheets which are 100% organic cotton and essential to give your baby the best nights sleep. They are GOTS – Global Organic Textile Standard – certified and last up to five times longer than their non-organic equivalent, making it a cost effective, long lasting option for your newborn. Our sheets are responsibly produced to strict environmental and social standards, keeping our carbon footprint low and ensuring you have an eco-focused solution for your baby’s bed.

Did you know that The Lullaby Trust produce guidelines on safer sleep for your baby and our box adheres to these?

Guidelines from The Lullaby Trust state that you “should use a firm and flat mattress that is protected by a waterproof cover. This
will help keep the mattress clean and dry, as the cover can be wiped down. You should also make sure your baby’s mattress is in good condition and fits correctly.”

It can be common to use a second-hand mattress either from friends and family, or from your previous children. There is some research that found the chance of SIDS  – Sudden Infant Death Syndrome – increased when using a second-hand mattress, although the link is not yet scientifically proven. To help reduce this risk, if you are using a second-hand mattress make sure the mattress you choose was previously completely protected by a waterproof cover, and then use one for your baby as well. The mattress should also still be firm and flat to keep your baby sleeping safely. Firmly tucked in sheets and blankets (not above shoulder height) or a baby sleeping bag are safe for a baby to sleep in. Be sure to remove any soft toys from the cot before each sleep period too. Sleep your baby in the feet-to-foot position and avoid using soft or bulky bedding such as quilts, pillows and duvets.

A simple mattress in your Baby Box with no loose bedding or bumpers is the safest sleeping place for a baby.
