2021 has been an incredible year for us. The year started with us doing what we are most passionate about…. supporting Charities. We have provided our Baby Boxes, luxury mattresses and 100% organic cotton sheets to Charities like Alternatives Watford for some time now and feel incredibly proud to make such a difference. They have provided 100’s of expectant parents with the best start for their babies, with the Baby Box filled to the top with all the essentials every parent needs. The community support Angela Such and her team provide in Watford and now Hemel Hempstead is amazing, and we always feel proud to talk about their achievements. Many Charities still use Moses baskets and are not able to financially purchase Baby Boxes, so to enable us to help these Charities we have now started providing two sizes of Moses Basket mattresses at a discounted price. Contact us hello@britishbabybox.com for more information.
In March, we continued to support The Lullaby Trust Safer Sleep Week. The Lullaby Trust have always given the best advice and support thousands and thousands of families up and down the country. We have also had the pleasure of working with their Chief Executive Jenny Ward on creating the first ever British Baby Box Standard… More news on that to follow in 2022.
In June we were very proud to announce that we were the winner of Prestige Awards ‘Baby Product Retailer of the Year’ for London & the South East. The judges commented by saying that they were impressed with our teams personal touch, passion and positivity!
July was all about Baby Showers….. This year, Baby Showers were able to happen and we were delighted to see many people clubbing together to buy our Luxury Baby Box which is filled with not only a range of 100% organic cotton clothing for baby, there are also the most gorgeous organic gifts for parent. With brands like Neom Organics London and Neals Yard Remedies. It’s the perfect Baby Shower gift.
Throughout the next few months, we had the privilege to visit many Baby Banks/Charities throughout Essex. One Charity just up the road from us – Tots2Teens, have been doing an amazing job of supporting parents in Colchester and the surrounding areas. We continue to provide corporate companies with bespoke Baby Boxes for their employees when they leave for maternity/paternity leave. Every company has a different budget, so can chose what they would like to spend, then the process of sending their Baby Box is simple. We both wish this existed when we left the corporate world to become Mums!
In November, we won another award and this was a big one………. Having been short listed earlier in the year, we were absolutely delighted to be named the winner of “Made in the UK Award” for London & East of England at the Great British Entrepreneur Awards. The judging panel said that we were worthy winners: Sarah & Susan have formulated an excellent concept backed up with a great business model and growth to match. To say we felt proud was an understatement.
We haven’t slowed down in December and as our contract with the Scottish Government continues and the first every British Baby Box standard being published, we feel 2022 is going to be the busiest ever, so thank you again for your support
