We are delighted to share the news that Nottingham City Council are now supporting families across Nottingham by providing Baby Boxes. This initiative is already making a tangible difference to the lives of new parents.
The early days of parenthood are filled with joy, but it can also bring financial pressures and a mountain of new things to learn. Nottingham City Council recognised this challenge and now support those local families who need help most.
What’s Inside the Baby Box?
The Baby Boxes provide a safe place for baby to sleep and adhere to the first ever British Standard – BS11130:2021. They are filled with essential, high-quality products designed to give parent and baby the best start in life.
Encouraging bonding, play and providing developmental items, the Baby Boxes also include:-
- Nursery essentials: Safe sleep items including a room thermometer.
- Clothing: Outfits for those crucial first few weeks.
- Care products: Nappies, wipes, breast pads and gentle baby toiletries.
- Developmental tools: Books, toys and a play mat to encourage early learning and parent-baby bonding.
These items are not only practical but provide support and community care.
Over 47 Baby Boxes Delivered To Date
We are delighted to confirm that over 47 Baby Boxes have been distributed to families across Nottingham!
This number is more than just a figure; it represents 47 babies who have been provided with a safe place to sleep, 47 families who have received vital support and 47 families who know their Local Authority cares.
The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, confirming that Baby Boxes are proving to be invaluable. Providing Baby Boxes helps new parents focus on bonding with their baby and accessing the wealth of other support services available across Nottingham.
